Sandblasting refers to the cleaning of surfaces through the use of a grit abrasive which is blasted by compressed air against the surface to be prepared.
In the processing of metal surfaces this method performs the dual function of both cleaning and roughening the surface being prepared. The result is the perfect canvas for the adhesion of modern protective coatings.
For many projects, however, sandblasting is not always necessarily required. This depends heavily on the condition of the existing protective layer.
